Our Story

Our connection to Twain Harte started with Angel.

Angel Garcia.

A WWII Veteran who fought on the shores of Normandy on D-Day, his love for his family was endless. Residing in the Bay Area (Burlingame to be exact) he built an A frame cabin in Twain Harte in 1970, where the memories of winter adventures at Dodge Ridge and swimming to the rock at Twain Harte Lake echo in the wood beams.

Now meet Angel Garcia's grandson, Chef Matt Garcia.  A chef who began his culinary career in San Francisco at Le Cordon Bleu, California Culinary Academy over 20 years ago, his dream of owning a restaurant has now come to life.

From working alongside Michelin star chefs, to executive chef at multiple staple restaurants in San Francisco, including 7x7 Magazine 30 Under 30 Rising Star Chef Nominee to Delight & Retain Catering Chef in the San Jose/Los Gatos area cooking for the CEO's of some the top tech companies, he now calls Twain Harte home with his wife Stephanie, and children Cruz and Cienna.

"The Branch" is a tribute to our experiences throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area, the new journeys and chances we've taken along the way, and the extension of love, faith and support that has gotten us here.

To the Radonich family, to whom we will forever be grateful for.

And to Angel, who we love and will always honor.

Welcome to The Branch!
